frequently asked questions

What does an archivist do?

A properly planned, organized and preserved legacy archive puts you in control of how your story is told. By using professional industry standards and museum quality materials, your items can be protected for years to come. An added bonus? Better organized items means they are more accessible and available to use for new projects like books, movies, or museum exhibits.

Whether you’re an estate looking to better manage your items for commercial projects or you’re an individual that wants to preserve and scan your family photos, we can help you reach your goals. We will work with you to organize, preserve and curate the items that make up your history.

Who needs an archivist? Do I need to be famous?

You do not have to be famous, an estate or a business to have your own archive. Everyone’s history is important. Anyone can hire an archivist and begin to preserve the memories and items that make up their life story.

What types of items can you archive?

You name it, we’ve archived it. Nothing is off limits… truly. Some items include, but are definitely not limited to, photos, negatives, film, slides, letters, ephemera, diaries, notebooks, vinyl records, large scale artworks, costumes, musical instruments, props and jewelry. Have something else in mind? Contact us and we will figure out a way to work with your objects.

But I have so much “stuff”! Where do I start?

First of all, congratulations! You’ve already done a great job of building your own personal archive. And even better, you’re now taking the first step to getting organized. There’s no project too messy or unorganized, big or small. We can take it step by step and get those boxes in the attic, under the bed, or in the storage unit organized and preserved according to your individual goals.

I am writing a book/working on a documentary/ considering donation or auction. How do I pick items?

This is an area we are well-versed in. We’ve worked with countless clients to sort through their collections and decide what to use for photo books, documentaries, memoirs, library donations and auctions. Together, we can review and select which artifacts to use based on your estate’s goals.

How much will this cost?

What makes us different is that no project is too big or too small for us to work on. We feel strongly that archiving and preservation should be accessible to everyone, therefore we will work with you or your estate on pricing.

We currently offer both package and hourly rates. Please contact for more information.

Who are your clients?

We’ve worked with numerous high-profile estates including musicians, actors, directors and artists. However, due to the confidential nature of some of these collections, our client list is available by request only. Click to download resume.
